TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Christina J. Swanson, Voice Teacher
I believe anyone can learn to sing. Because I have seen it happen. I have seen both my students--and myself--undergo dramatic changes as musicians.
The best part? We undergo dramatic changes of spirit, too.
I specialize in teaching all levels of students the craft and mastery of singing and piano lessons. I bring 5 years of experience teaching voice lessons, during which I have developed a method of tailoring each singing lesson to meet the needs of every student. From a foundational technique, I work with students learning Pop, Jazz, R & B, Opera/Classical, Folk, Rock, and Musical Theater. From touring musicians to passionate amateurs, we can develop a path to vocal artistry.
I received my Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan in 2016. There, I learned a foundational bel canto technique, which I have adapted and applied to Pop, Jazz, R & B, Folk, Rock, and Musical Theater. As a performer and writer, I believe the voice should be as flexible as our interests. I am a vocal artist who regularly performs in opera, experimental, and performance art. In addition to teaching and singing, I am a dancer and choreographer, disciplines which I integrate into my work.
